Every once in a while you come across a great question that shakes you up, makes you think twice about your current approach. This post is one such question, and comes from Gary Keller’s brilliant book, “The One Thing.” The whole premise of the book is based upon the following question:
“What’s the one thing you can do, such that by doing it, everything else will be easier or unnecessary?”
If you’ve read any of my recent posts or articles, you’ll know I’m as anti-multi-tasking as they come. For good reason! This book makes a great case for why you should consider doubling down on one thing (and backs it up with solid data and examples). Great achievement does not come from juggling, it comes from focus.
So how can you apply this thinking to your world today? That’s for you to figure out! Take a few minutes right now to think about it – what is your one thing? I can tell you this much – ignoring the question can be the difference between success and failure this year.
I highly suggest you read Gary’s book if you’re looking to cut through the noise and start seeing the results you truly deserve.
